Our economics move only when your program does.

Our economics are intentionally structured around successful wet-lab validation. Engagements are designed as parallel shots on goal with limited upfront exposure, so the economics move only when the program does. Artificial intelligence tools are predictive, not deterministic. No company or model can guarantee success. Our primary fees are therefore earned only when our predictions translate experimentally, ensuring aligned incentives.

Designed Biological Interrogation

Design against the biological question, not a chemical haystack.

Frontier artificial intelligence models have begun to fundamentally transform drug discovery from stochastic search to intentional design. Traditional high-throughput screening relies on chance, sifting through massive physical libraries to find a single needle in a haystack. Ascent reverses this paradigm:
we use frontier generative models to design the exact ‘needles’ required, engineering tailored small molecules directly for your specified targets and pockets. The result is a more directed search across biology: multiple binding sites can be explored in parallel, domain-specific function interrogated, and previously inaccessible targets pursued without the brute-force burden.
We replace stochastic search with directed biological design.

Ownership and confidentiality

The work remains yours

Clients retain 100% of program IP and generated outputs. Ascent takes no royalties, biobucks, equity ownership, or downstream economic rights.

Client sequences, structures, proprietary data, generated designs, and deliverables are never reused, redelivered, incorporated into another engagement, or added to model-training and reusable datasets.

Single-shot hit discovery

Ascent deploys frontier artificial intelligence to design small molecules directly against your targets. Our aim is simple – a single shot, meticulously designed set of compounds optimized for activity, novelty, diversity, and developability. Instead of a million-compound screen, we aim for a four order of magnitude compression – often a hundred compounds, or less – with majority fees tied to successful in vitro validation. The result: a de-risked, asymmetric shot-on-goal that preserves runway and maximizes upside.

We work closely with your teams to understand your targets and biology deeply, while deploying advanced AI/ML to define druggable, cryptic, and allosteric pockets. Our direct-to-pocket generation technologies allow us to probe domain-specific function, diversify chemical matter against established binding sites, and explore druggability of multiple pockets in parallel. Fundamentally, we aim for unprecedented biological interrogation at a deeply comprehensive scale. 

Target Engineering

Our fundamental goal is to show you what actually controls your target – and give you the engineered variants to prove it.

We design mutation sets and engineered constructs around concrete mechanistic questions: which residues control activity, whether distant sites communicate allosterically, and which substitutions stabilize or shift important conformational states. Our capabilities include cryptic pocket discovery, site-directed mutagenesis, prefusion antigen stabilization, and deep structural analysis. The aim is simple – a deliberate experimental path toward understanding what controls your target and how that control can be used.
